Four artists coast along, mainly with oil and acrylic, inks and pigments on canvas or papers. The originality of their works and the free way of expressing themselves call the attention through impressions of water, crossing the air, spaces of feverish impetuosity.

Energy, movement, ardour of the paintings of the Swiss artist Petr Beranek, of Czechoslovakian origin, are taking us right into a game of the extremes. Traces, lines, powerful signs, tingling events, scratches, graphite streaks animating the painted fields, reveal also, here and there, tiny little poetic and mysterious spots, talking to the imaginary. Petr Beranek is also creating “gumprints”, an original work combining self made photography, colours on paper or canvas and manual pressing-machine.

Of Belgian origin, Charlotte Callens is inspired by the vast landscapes of her country. The coloured areas of her works are infinite; the eye keeps looking at them, trying to find out all the subtle shades and fine textures worked with care. Attracted by the North Sea and the transparent and clear blues of its waters, sometimes by greys with delicate deepness, or warmed by some reds, orange, and pink tones, the artist express herself always with the same know how and the same interiority.

Marfa Indoukaeva, of Russian origin, privileges paper on her side. For the occasion, she created a new series of works on the theme of “impressions of water”. “With very liquid inks, I draw on a glass support, and then I put a sheet of paper on it, and observe how the water moves; I can add, as I wish, inks, spots, spray water in a free way” she says. “The idea is to leave the water draw on its own and intervene as little as possible”. In the final, it is a marvellous haphazard game.

The well-known artist Pierre Zufferey, originating from the Valais (Switzerland) is chaining up the large size events. He is presently busy preparing a vast exhibition in Mexico. In the present show, two large works entitled “Migrations”, draw the spectator towards unexplored areas. With his tremendous energy, calling for challenges, the artist is likely to fly over plains, oceans and deserts, towards a new era. Large sandy luminous fields close to monochrome, are crossed by a few charcoal traces, so as to better signify the transition from black to light.
